February 26, 2015 | TWENTY-FOURTH DAY – FOUNTAIN REPAIRS
Leave your thoughts | Categorised in: Fountain WorksToday was the twenty-fourth day of the repairs to the fountain. Here is what was done, followed by some photos:
A small group of Friends of the Fountain and Walk Board members worked on sealing all of the joints around the base of the pedestal of the fountain, the junction box accesses, the four light niches, the inlet and underneath the tile where it joins the paint.
We also replaced two large brass diverters in the middle bowl and one small brass diverter in the top bowl.
We also finished the second coat of paint on the fountain pool surface bottom.
We will have to keep the fountain drained until the repairs are completed. Thank you for your patience, and for your help in making this happen. Please follow my daily progress reports. Scroll down on this blog for details on the work and why it’s needed.
