March 27, 2015 | THIRTY-EIGHTH DAY – FOUNTAIN REPAIRS
Leave your thoughts | Categorised in: Fountain WorksToday was the thirty-eighth day of the repairs to the fountain. Here is what was done, followed by some photos:
City Parks Department staff met with a couple Friends of the Fountain and Walk (FOFW) Board members to discuss plans for remedying the water not coming out of the top (crown jet fountainhead) as before, as well as removing the remaining sediment from the plumbing lines. City Parks Department staff gave guidance to the FOFW Board members who volunteered to do the work.
FOFW Board volunteers removed the small amount of water in the fountain pool and watered the grass with it, cleaned the sediment and debris out of both the upper and middle bowls, cleaned the walls and the pool surface from the sediment residue, and cleaned as much sediment and debris out of the plumbing lines as possible.
FOFW Board volunteers left a small amount of water in the fountain so that it will be ready for City Parks Department staff to work tomorrow on remedying the water not coming out of the top (crown jet fountainhead) as before.
Thank you for your patience, and for your help in making this happen. Please follow my progress reports. Scroll down on this blog for details on the work and why it’s needed.
