Wanted to bring to your attention to two upcoming events that will focus on the history and architecture of Northbrae.

Sponsored by Berkeley Architectural Heritage Association, the related events are:

Presentation on the development of Northbrae: This talk, scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at Northbrae Community Church, will serve as a prelude to a BAHA house and garden tour later in the month. The speaker is UC Berkeley art history Professor Margaretta Lovell, who has been working with students to document Northbrae’s architectural and social history. BAHA’s Fall House Tour in Northbrae: This walking tour, scheduled for 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22, will offer at least eight homes and gardens to view, including homes designed by Julia Morgan, Bernard Maybeck and John Hudson Thomas. Volunteers with Friends of the Fountain and Walk plan to be on hand during the home tour to offer information about their work as stewards, with the City of Berkeley, of the Fountain at The Circle and Fountain Walk, the central historic features of the Northbrae development.
