May 14, 2015 | IRRIGATION TURNED OFF
Leave your thoughts | Categorised in: Fountain News & UpdatesEBMUD has declared a Stage 4 critical drought and has put the following water restrictions in effect: http://www.cityofberkeley.info/drought/
- Limit watering of outdoor landscapes to no more than two non-consecutive days per week and prevent runoff
- Water only before 9 am or after 6 pm
- No watering allowed within 48 hours of measurable rainfall
- No watering of ornamental turf on public street medians allowed
- Use a broom or air blower, not water, to clean hard surfaces such as driveways and sidewalks, except as needed for health and safety purposes
- Use only hoses with shutoff nozzles to wash vehicles
- Turn off fountains or decorative water features unless the water is recirculated
These restrictions apply to everyone — individuals, businesses, homeowners associations, schools and other public entities. As a result, the City of Berkeley has turned off the irrigation to the grass areas around the fountain, in the median between Los Angeles and Mendocino, and the perimeter of The Circle.
