Friends and neighbors:
You are invited to a community forum hosted by Friends of the Fountain and Walk where staff from the City of Berkeley will discuss ongoing projects and ideas for future infrastructure improvement projects funded by 2016’s Measure T1.
When: 7 p.m. Thursday, April 23
Where: Northbrae Community Church, 941 The Alameda
In November 2016, Berkeley voters approved Measure T1, a $100 million bond measure to repair, renovate, replace or reconstruct our city’s aging infrastructure, from sidewalks to storm drains to public buildings.
Phase 1 of the bond plan, approved in 2017, has funded more than 45 projects through 2021, including renovation of the Mental Health Facility, North Berkeley Senior Center and Live Oak Community Center, as well as various park upgrades, street and green infrastructure improvements.
Now Phase 2 is being planned. This is your chance to weigh in on how the balance of T1 bond money should be spent beginning in 2022. Come share your thoughts on possible improvement projects in the Northbrae neighborhood, including around The Circle and Fountain Walk, and help prioritize projects citywide.
You can find more about T1 here: https://www.cityofberkeley.info/MeasureT1/

The streets here are at the end of their paved life and have become hard to negotiate even in the best of weather. Some are nearly impassable and must be painful for many people with back problems or osteoporosis. I feel for them as I have experienced the same pain of driving on a broken rough pavement. We pay a lot of taxes in these hills and do not mind to share needs with other needy parts of the city, but somehow some of these tax dollars need to be spent in this area.
I will definitely try to beat the meeting. I definitely support anything for the fountain and for several years I have tried to get some improvements for Stoneface aPark
